No bodywork kit for this Locost build
Because I changed the design and dimensions of my chassis from the original Locost design, the only body components that I could buy ready made were the fibreglass mudguards. Everything else I had to custom make, or in the case of the nosecone, extensively modify and improve.
These photos follow the design and construction of the bodywork in fibreglass and aluminium. Now knowing how time consuming this process was and also how expensive the fibreglass resin is, I would recommend trying to utilise existing fibreglass panels wherever possible. Every fibreglass panel is a three part process (buck, mould and final item) and therefore requires a lot of time, effort, material and financial investment.
